Sparkling

Palazzi Durello Spumante Brut NV, Veneto, Italy (Ve)

£26.00

Prosecco in all but name. Here Durello steps in place of the traditional Glera (and between us we think it does a much better job) All the hallmark qualities of a good Italian fizz; lightly floral with citrus and ripe green apples with crisp acidity, precise bubbles and a clean refreshing finish.

White

One Chain ‘The Googly’ Chardonnay 2018, South Australia, (Ve)

£27.60

Forget the flabby over oaked Aussie Chardonnays of old, this is lean and clean with not a hint of wood.  The grapes are sourced from cooler climate vineyards to give a delicious, tangy white wine. Crisp, lively and bright, this citrus scented Chardonnay is well balanced, with tropical fruit and melon on the palate before presenting a vibrant, textured finish.

Viile Timisului Solara Orange, 2018, Banat, Romania (Ve) (Organic) (Natural)

£26.80

Nope. It’s not made from Oranges. This is a delicate skin contact wine from Romania's Viile Timisului winery. It’s white wine made in the style of red giving the orange appearance and the structure of red. The nose initially offers a savoury orange rind note, before the wine opens up on the palate showing a herbaceous character with apples, pears, a hint of zesty citrus and a little tannic grip. A perfect introduction to the Orange category.

Red

Lopez de Haro Rioja Gran Reserva, Rioja, 2009, Spain, (Ve)

£34.40

Aged for 30 months in French and American oak barrels. Bright cherry-red colour, complex on the nose with coffee and vanilla integrated into an intense bottom note of ripe fruit. Elegant and round on the palate, well balanced with a velvety attack followed by a pleasant acidity and a silky full-bodied finish. A real knockout red!

Valli Unite Alessandrino, Piedmont, Italy, (Ve) (Organic) (Natural)

£30.40

Terrific little rustic natural wine made from a variety of Piedmontese grape varieties, with Barbera very prominent in the mix. Vibrant, energetic, fresh, sour, chewy with cherry skins a hint of Brett balances out bringing a rustic quality reminiscent of Flemish red beers.
