US Whiskey to Mix or Sip

£3.70 Bulleit Bourbon 45% (USA)

£4.00 Knob Creek 9yr 50% (USA) At 50% ABV this bourbon packs a punch, but its 9 years of ageing allows the liquor to glean more sweetness from the barrel, balancing it out. Delivers on the finish and not to be sniggered at.

£4.10 Rittenhouse Rye 50% (USA) A drier and spicier proposition than bourbon, rye is the original American Whiskey of choice before it was elbowed out by its sweeter cousin. It makes for a delightful old fashioned.

Whiskey to Sip

A Kentucky straight bourbon with plenty of rye at its core - plenty spicy, well balanced with herbal notes of peppermint and a touch of fruit.

£5.80 1792 Small Batch Bourbon 46.9% In the year 1792, Kentucky became a state. 1792 Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey is named after that wonderful year. It's spicy, rye-rich bourbon which is just asking to be enjoyed on a sunny evening with a few ice-cubes.

Bottled at 50% ABV, you can bet your bottom dollar this little beauty will be something to savour. The Smooth Ambler craft distillery in West Virginia is busy leaving their barrels of whiskey alone to mature. During this time, they have scouted out whiskey they admire and created a curated selection, dubbed Old Scout.

£6.90 Blanton’s Gold Edition 51.5% A superb single barrel bourbon. Blanton's Gold is distilled from a mashbill of corn, rye and malted barley. Each bottle is hand filled, sealed, labelled and individually numbered.

£7.20 Noah’s Mill 57.2% A really outstanding and difficult-to-find small batch spirit, aged for many years before bottling, Noah's Mill is highly sought after by collectors and connoisseurs alike.

£8 Balcones Brimstone 53% American craft distiller Balcones created this smoky corn whisky, fittingly named the Brimstone, by smoking the whisky itself rather than the grain. It is innovative techniques such as this which are creating a buzz around American whiskey at the moment.

£8.40 Garrison Brothers Texas Straight Bourbon 47% Straight bourbon from Garrison Brothers, the first legal whiskey distillery in Texas! Highly rated by Jim Murray in his Whisky Bible, this Lone Star state whisky is produced in Hye. (That's Hye, not Rye.)

£9.50 Colonel E .H. Taylor 50% This small batch bourbon is named after Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor, an incredibly important figure in bourbon's history from the 1800s who owned a whole host of distilleries and innovated production methods which are still used today. It's only right that the Colonel EH Taylor Small Batch lives up to his name by being absolutely amazing - complex but not overwhelming and oh-so-smooth.
